I went back to the room around 8:30 to turn-in for the night.
I decided I was just a bit tired so freshened-up went out and enjoyed my day, walking the Riverfront, stopping at a number of casinos, and enjoying a great Thanksgiving meal at Claim Jumper. I was shocked because I had read good reviews about the hotel online. The stale smoke smell was a bit overwhelming. I walked in and the 50 years' worth of people smoking in the room (it's not considered smoke-free) hit me like a brick wall. They put me on the first floor near the elevator. After driving 5 hours, I needed to change clothes and freshen-up a bit, so agreed. The person checking me in stated she had a room, and it would cost $15 extra to check-in early. When I arrived, I did ask for an early check-in.
I was looking forward to a nice get-away for Thanksgiving 2022.
